Former Meta AI executives Devi Parikh and Dhruv Batra have embarked on a groundbreaking mission to redefine artificial intelligence with their new startup, Yutori. The company has secured $15 million in funding from an impressive roster of investors, including Radical Ventures’ Rob Toews, Felicis, AI luminary Fei-Fei Li, and Google DeepMind’s chief scientist Jeff Dean.
Yutori aims to push beyond conventional chatbots by developing AI that doesn’t just respond but actively executes tasks. “Chatbots today aren’t really taking work off your plate,” said Parikh. Their approach focuses on post-training models—an advanced technique that enhances AI capabilities by fine-tuning large models for specialized tasks. This innovation aligns with advancements seen in OpenAI’s latest models.
The startup boasts a team of experts who played key roles in Meta’s Llama 3 and Llama 4 post-training, as well as embodied AI research that enables robots to interact with the physical world. Yutori envisions AI-driven solutions that streamline daily activities, from travel planning to automating mundane tasks. As AI moves towards a more autonomous future, Yutori is poised to lead the way in intelligent, action-oriented digital assistants.
