New Delhi: In a major step toward transforming early childhood education, Delhi-based nonprofit Rocket Learning has introduced ‘Appu,’ an AI-powered tutor designed to provide personalized and interactive learning for children aged 3 to 6. With a $1.5 million grant from Google.org, this initiative is set to make a significant impact on foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development.

Appu leverages advanced artificial intelligence to tailor educational content based on a child’s progress, making learning more engaging and effective. Initially launching in Hindi, the platform plans to expand into 20 regional languages, ensuring accessibility for diverse communities across India. Rocket Learning was co-founded by Azeez Gupta, Vishal Sunil, Namya Mahajan, Siddhant Sachdeva, and Utsav Kheria, all passionate about revolutionizing early education. Vishal Sunil, recognized in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list, believes that AI-driven personalized learning can unlock every child’s potential.

The AI tutor has already been piloted in Anganwadi centers and government-run preschools, demonstrating its potential to improve learning outcomes nationwide.
